What distinguishes good detergent from mediocre detergent
Machine detergent solves a different task than household detergent: it should be low-foaming so that pumps and spray arms are not disturbed, act quickly at high temperatures, and maintain the same performance throughout a whole serving day with varying loads. The difference between an average and a good detergent is noticeable only at high loads — when alkaline power against protein and starch residues must be maintained throughout the shift without foam formation or calcium sensitivity taking over.
Regulations and labeling to keep in mind
The product is subject to requirements for food contact materials and must be classified and labelled in accordance with the CLP regulation because it is highly alkaline. If you want to position the series environmentally, a variant can be formulated to meet the Svanen or EU Ecolabel criteria for professional dishwashing detergents — this already influences the choice of surfactants and the requirements for biodegradability at the recipe stage.

This is how we help you create your own detergent for the washing machine
1) Product proposals: We analyse your needs and take into account your vision in terms of design, colour and fragrance, and ensure that the product meets legal requirements and sustainability goals.
2) Sample and price: We provide samples and price proposals based on our needs analysis. You will have the opportunity to try the product and ensure that it fulfils your requirements before making a decision.
3) Authorisation: Once we agree on price and results, you authorise the product for production.
4) Launch: We handle the purchase of materials and manufacture the product in our factory. When the products are ready for sale, we deliver them to you on pallets.

The goal was that the result would surpass or live up to the leading products on the market. At the same time, they also wanted to spread and strengthen the interest in eco-friendly cleaning products for both companies and individuals.

One of our most successful collaborations is with COOP Trading AB. At Cleano, we have helped them in particular to create three different brands in their range. It starts with us creating the recipes. Then we allow COOP to design the product design based entirely on their wishes. Afterwards, we purchase the inputs – such as bottles, labels, caps or spray guns – and deliver them to COOP in cartons.
